Losing the love for fighting: adjusting in response to life changes
Losing the love for training and competing in any sport is rough, never more so than in combat sports
I am an amateur boxer continuously seeking new challenges that will allow me to keep raising the bar on my performance. I thrive on reaching for ever more impossible goals, and am determined to not let age restrict my ambitions as a fighter.
I had my first fight in November 202, just 2 weeks before I turned 41 years old. I have heard many times from other fighters that they never imagined they would get into the ring, that they had no intention of fighting when they started training-but I always knew it was the end state for me. I knew that if I was going to do this, the final way of testing what I had learnt was to fight.
This is a collection of my thoughts on the experience of training and fighting.
